How do I create a Summative Assessment?
How do I create a Summative Assessment?
Updated over a month ago

Summative Assessments are available across all LoveHeart Plans.

Summative Assessments allows you to understand a child’s learning over time, and provides teachers, educators, and families with contemporaneous developmental information about a child’s development.

LoveHeart will assess the documentation, i.e., Learning Stories/Observations, that you have created for your children on LoveHeart.

NOTE: Currently, all features including summative assessments are available to all plans created after 26 June 2024. If you created you account prior to this, the Summative assessment feature is only available on the Personal plan ($29 per month) or above. If you are on an older account, you can delete your account, and create a new account to gain access to this feature across all plans - just note that you will be restricted by the request limit. Deleting your account however will mean that you will lose your data, so to avoid this you can export your documents as PDFs before you delete your profile.

There are two ways by which you can create a Summative Assessment:

1. To create a Summative Assessment through 'Journeys' please see the video tutorial below:

Helpful Tips: Maximising Your Summative Assessments

  • To ensure you get the most out of your summative assessments, select observations that hold significant learning and establish connections to the outcomes, such as your Country's Framework. LoveHeart will only summarise outcomes based on the observations you've chosen.

  • While we provide goal suggestions, we encourage educators and teachers to exercise their professional judgment. You're not obligated to use LoveHeart's suggestions; feel free to create your own and make edits as needed.

2. To create a Summative Assessment through 'Journals' please see the video tutorial below:

We hope these tips proves helpful! If not, please don't hesitate to let us know. We're always here to assist you!
NOTE: That if viewing this on the web - 'Journals' has been renamed to 'Docs' with some small design tweaks and additional features.
