Reflection is such an important part of what we do as educators. It’s how we grow, learn, and continually improve the experiences we create for children. With Coach Sue by your side, reflecting can be not just productive but also enjoyable! Whether you're just starting out or a seasoned pro, here’s how you can use a coaching session with Coach Sue to guide your reflective practice.

Step 1: Start Your Journey with Coach Sue

First things first, open the LoveHeart app and head over to the Coaching section. It’s as simple as pressing the + button to kick off a new conversation with Coach Sue. This is where the magic begins!

Step 2: Let the Conversation Flow

Now that you’re all set, it’s time to chat with Coach Sue. You can either type out your thoughts in the text box or, if you prefer, record a voice memo. Think of it as having a conversation with a wise and supportive friend who’s here to help you dig a little deeper.

Step 3: Share What’s on Your Mind

To get the most out of your session, give Coach Sue a bit of context. You might say something like:

  • General Reflection: "I want to reflect on [topic]. Can you guide me through this?"

  • Specific Reflection: "I want to reflect on [specific aspect]. Could you ask me some questions to help me think more deeply about this?"

Coach Sue is great at asking the right questions to help you explore your thoughts, so don’t be shy about telling her exactly what you’re thinking about.

Step 4: Upload images

You can enhance your reflective practice by uploading images you want to reflect on. Upload a photo and ask Coach Sue to guide your reflection based on the image. For example:

  • "I want to reflect on my physical environment using this image. Can you guide me?"

Step 5: You’re in the Driver’s Seat

One of the best things about working with Coach Sue is that you’re in control. If at any point you feel like the reflection is heading in a different direction than you intended, just let her know. You could say:

  • "I’d like to focus more on [specific area]. Can we explore that instead?"

Coach Sue will happily adjust the conversation to align with what you want to focus on.

Step 6: It’s Okay Not to Know

Reflection isn’t always easy, and sometimes you might feel unsure about how to answer a question or what to think about next. And that’s totally okay! If you’re stuck, just say, "I don’t know," and Coach Sue will be there to guide you, offering suggestions or reframing the question to help you find your way.

Reflecting with Coach Sue is all about supporting you on your journey as an educator. Whether you're thinking through a big idea, focusing on a specific practice, or even reflecting on your physical space, Coach Sue is here to make the process smooth, insightful, and yes—even a bit fun! So, take a deep breath, open up the app, and start your reflective journey with Coach Sue. She’s ready whenever you are!

Happy reflecting! 😊
